- Feb 19Akash Upadhyay – Paying enterprise prices for sales data… …when you’re still building product-market fit? That’s a mistake many startups realize too late. Like most founders, I started with spreadsheets, LinkedIn searches, and manual prospecting. Then came the chaos: missed follow-ups, outdated contacts, and hours wasted chasing the wrong leads. Tools like ZoomInfo are powerful, but they’re not built for startup budgets. The good news? In 2026, there are smarter alternatives designed specifically for SMBs & startups. In my latest guide, I break down 7 ZoomInfo competitors that help you: -find accurate decision-maker data -build targeted lists in minutes -automate outreach & follow-ups -scale your pipeline without overspending Because early-stage growth isn’t about having the biggest stack… …it’s about using the right tools at the right stage. If you're building outbound or scaling sales, this list will save you serious time and money. What’s been your biggest challenge with sales prospecting lately? #B2BSales #StartupGrowth #LeadGeneration #SalesTools #RevenueGrowth26

- Feb 19Chris A. – The CEO of Cognism just stepped down The CEO of 6sense stepped down The CEO of Outreach stepped down Clari and Salesloft merged and both CEOs stepped down All in the last 6 months These aren’t retirements - Isilay is 38, Medina is 43, Zintak ran 6sense for 8 years and scaled it to $250M ARR So why are they all leaving right now, right when AI is supposed to make everything better? Because the foundation is wrong And the market knows it - ZoomInfo’s market cap dropped 50% in 2024 alone, from $7.2B to $3.6B Here’s what no one is saying out loud: “We’re pursuing our next entrepreneurial endeavor” Translation: The company-level signal model we built our entire business on doesn’t work anymore 6sense literally published an article saying “intent data needs to die” - about their own core product When the CEO of an intent data company admits intent data is broken and then leaves 6 months later, that’s not a coincidence “Bringing in fresh leadership for our next phase of growth” Translation: The GTM stack we sold was built for 2019 when every company had unlimited budgets and 30-person SDR teams Outreach went through 5 rounds of layoffs in 2 years Their $4.4B valuation was based on a world where SDRs sent 10,000 emails a month That world is gone and the product architecture can’t adapt “Strategic merger to accelerate innovation” Translation: Our moats disappeared and we’re merging defensively to survive When two category leaders merge and both CEOs step aside, that’s not strength - that’s consolidation before an exit Here’s what’s actually happening: The old model was built on company-level signals → Hiring alerts → Funding announcements→ Tech stack changes → Website visits These aren’t buying signals - they’re noise that looks like data We analyzed 180M+ sales calls and found that only 3-5% of companies are in-market at any given time No amount of “intent data” changes that math Company-level signals don’t predict when individuals are ready to buy The founders leaving now understand this They can see that retrofitting person-level behavioral intelligence onto a company-level architecture is impossible So they’re stepping aside The market is realizing the old GTM stack is fundamentally broken Some companies are trying to patch it with AI features Others are rebuilding the foundation Because the future of sales isn’t about reaching more companies It’s about understanding which specific people are ready to buy, and when749
